Gaiman helped to pen season two alongside John Finnemore and is returning once again as executive producer and showrunner. Good Omens is based on a novel written by long-time friends and successful fantasy novelists Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett. The pair are banished to live amongst mortals, but just as they are beginning to enjoy themselves an unknown messenger brings them a shocking mystery. The premier episode is called “Chapter 1: The Arrival” and will pick up after Crowley and Aziraphale have prevented the apocalypse. The sequence confirms that season two will follow the unlikely angel/demon duo as they deal with the aftermath of the season one finale. Much like the opening for the first season, this new one features the same art style and shows David Tennent’s Crowley and Michael Sheen’s Aziraphale traversing an apocalypse-ravaged Earth and then leading a long line of people into the underworld. The intro was shared on YouTube and Twitter with the caption “A special gift, because you all have been oh so patient with us.” The brand new title sequence for the hit show’s second season should whet the appetites of fans who have been dying to see the return of their favorite angel and demon since the first season ended in 2019.
